What this is

Game V Game (gamevgame.com) recommends and compares games. Using the site means accepting these terms. If you do not accept them, do not use it.

Accounts

• An account is created by signing in with Steam or Google. There is no separate password to set or lose.
• Your account is therefore only as secure as the Steam or Google account behind it.
• One account per person. We may suspend or remove an account that is abusing the service — hammering the API, forging data, attacking the site — and will normally say so first.

Fair use

Yes: read it, share links to it, quote a comparison with a link back.

No:

• Bulk-scraping the catalogue, the comparisons or the scores. Automated harvesting gets rate-limited and then blocked.
• Republishing the site’s content wholesale somewhere else.
• Working around access controls, the admin console’s authentication, or rate limits.

If you want the data in bulk, ask: support@gamevgame.com. Asking works better than scraping.

Who owns what

• The match model, the six-axis taste vector, the comparison and shortlist writing, and the design of the site belong to Game V Game.
• Game names, cover art, store descriptions and review data belong to their respective owners; we use them for reference and commentary and cite the source on the page.
• This site is not affiliated with, endorsed by or connected to Valve, Steam or Google. Steam data is read through Steam’s public Web API.

What the numbers are worth

• Prices, discounts, release dates and free-to-play status go stale. The store page is the truth; do not buy on the strength of a number here.
• A match score is a model’s estimate, not a promise. When it is wrong we would like to hear about it.
• Comparisons and shortlists are reviewed by a person before publication, which makes them careful, not infallible. Corrections are welcome.

Pages here link to Steam and other third parties. What happens after you leave is governed by their terms, not ours.

There are currently no paid placements and no commission-bearing links anywhere on this site. If that changes, the link will say so where you can see it.

Provided as-is

This is a project maintained by one independent developer. The site may break, change, drop a feature, or one day stop. We will try to give notice and to leave your data exportable, but we do not promise availability and we do not promise to keep your data forever. Keep your own copy of anything that matters — Settings exports it.

Liability

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect losses arising from use of this site — including, but not limited to, buying a game on a recommendation and not liking it.

Changes and governing law

The date at the top moves when these terms change; a material change will be announced on the site. Continuing to use it means accepting the new version.

These terms are interpreted under the law of the place where the operator is resident. Whatever consumer rights your own country gives you, you keep.
